1. The Government of Ghana has received a loan from the African Development Fund in the amount of UA 19.58 million towards the cost of Livestock Development Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to cover eligible payments under the contracts for the supply of Laboratory and Field Equipment and Supplies. Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible member countries as defined in the ADB's Rules of Procedure for the Procurement of Goods and Works.

2. The Projects Coordination Unit of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture acting on behalf of the Livestock Development Project (LDP) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for any or all of the following lots :

upon payment of a non-refundable fee of one hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢100.00) in local currency per lot, or US$100.00 or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency, payable to Account Name: ADF Livestock Development Project; US Dollar Account Number: 400-12114258-01; Bank Name: National Investment Bank Ghana Limited; Bank Branch: Accra Main Branch, for each set. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents at the same address.

4. The instructions to bidders and general conditions of contract contained in the bidding documents comply with the Bank's Standard Bidding Documents for the Procurement of Goods/Works.

5. Bids shall be valid for a bid period of 90 days after Bid Opening and must be accompanied by the security deposits of USD 900.00 for lot 1; USD 1,500.00 for lot 2; USD 2000.00 for lot 3; USD 7,750.00 for lot 4; USD 12,550.00 for lot 5; USD 3,700.00 for lot 6; USD 500.00 for lot 7; and USD 700.00 for lot 8, Conference Room of the MOFA Information Resource Centre (Library), Accra in the vicinity of Aglow Agric Products Ltd. and the Greater-Accra Regional MoFA Offices on or before 10.00 am GMT on 23 October 2008. They will be opened in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend at Conference Room of the MOFA Information Resource Centre (Library), Accra in the vicinity of Aglow Agric Products Ltd. and the Greater-Accra Regional MoFA Offices on 23 October 2008 at 10.30 am GMT local time.
