International Humanitarian Aid Procurement Service (IHAPS)

www.ihapsnet.org

iHAPS is a forum for humanitarian aid agencies to access sources of supplies of goods and services for emergency response, relief and development operations.

It provides a vehicle for aid agencies – UN agencies, government agencies, the Red Cross/Red Crescent, NGOs, search & rescue and civil emergency authorities - to inform relevant suppliers worldwide of their immediate requirements.

Following a disaster, these organisations can instantaneously post what additional supplies are required to complement their existing stocks – particularly to source those available in the immediate vicinity of the disaster - enabling suppliers to respond immediately and directly to urgent requests for essential supplies and materials to address the needs on the ground in the initial aftermath of a disaster.

Procurement officials can also analyse the appropriateness of suppliers of goods and services for recovery, rehabilitation and long-term (re)development programmes.

iHAPS is an up-to-date, interactive online catalogue of humanitarian aid and disaster relief products and services, featuring the most comprehensive listing of aid related manufacturers, distributors and service providers, currently available.

iHAPS features an online database - searchable by company name, product type and country - designed to be used by procurement & logistics officials within aid agencies, such as the UN, Red Cross, various NGOs, and government agencies, to locate resources for aid response and development.

iHAPS contains in-depth information on suppliers and service providers of relevant and related products and services. Information on each company includes contact information, product information, including specifications and pictures of products (drawings and photographs), along with location availability, shipping costs, and much more.

iHAPS entries are fully interactive, with users able to request additional information from the supplier as well as requesting similar products and suppliers from the database.

iHAPS also features Product Reviews, where products are evaluated with the involvement of experiences procurement officials and aid workers (often ‘in the field’), including a monthly focus on an individual product sector.
